Menopause
Some Questions & Answers

Every year in the U.S., millions of women are entering their "change of life" as they pass from their fertile age in the next phase of life, known as menopause. Although a few women are lucky enough to go through menopause naturally and without any uncomfortable symptoms, most will not be so fortunate.

The most common and inconvenient symptom of menopause which sends women to their doctors for help is hot flashes. This aggravating and unpredictable temperature fluctuation is caused by the reduction of estrogen in the body. Disruption of sleep patterns is often a result, as these women wake up several times during the night to find themselves burning with heat or soaked with sweat. As a result of waking up frequently during the night to throw the bedclothes off and then put them back on again, these women can suffer all day from fatigue and irritability, affecting their loved ones as well with their uncharacteristic disposition.

In addition, it becomes necessary to be prepared for hot flashes during the day, when menopause sufferers must suddenly pull off their overclothes and begin fanning themselves frantically. Also, due to biochemical changes and the profuse sweating, deodorants don't seem to work as well as they used to, and women wish their deodorant could be worn everywhere above the waist!

At the point where the inconvenience becomes intolerable, most women opt to follow their doctor's recommendation to begin Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to bring their menopausal hot flashes under control. HRT has been touted as having the benefit of slowing the loss of bone calcium (osteoporosis), but these claims have recently been subject to scrutiny.

Some women are opposed to the use of hormone replacement therapy, and others do not react well with the added estrogen in their bodies which can cause sluggishness, weight gain, moodiness, and occasionally the return of the menses. Women who've had a history of endometriosis may have the condition return when using HRT, even after they've had a complete hysterectomy to treat their endometriosis. A number of our customers using Endo-Fem, our company's herbal product, have come to us for help with post-hysterectomy endometriosis. These women have achieved the same good results as our customers with pre-menopausal endometriosis. Many menopausal women now prefer to use alternative therapies and forgo the use of synthetic hormone supplementation due to cancer risks or other health considerations.

Recent research indicates that the incidence of hormone imbalance symptoms is on the rise in the U.S. and other developed countries. The evidence comes from the dramatic rise in reproductive cancers such as those of the female ovaries and breasts, as well as cancer of the prostate gland in males. Clues as to the cause can be found in nature, where fresh-water amphibians such as frogs and alligators are being found with deformities of the sexual organs, a probable result of chemicals that pollute the water runoff from agriculture.

A number of researchers now speculate that the chemical compounds in pesticides and herbicides which act as hormone disruptors are finding their way into our bodies via the food chain. Because technologically advanced countries report the highest statistics in reproductive disorders, it is believed that this problem will plague us for years to come; until environmental toxins and their residues are eliminated.

Using hormone therapy to treat imbalance appears to work for immediate symptoms, but only masks the real problem. Continuously flooding the body with any form of estrogen may not be a healthy solution for the long term.

By using herbal detoxifiers which utilize drinking water as a vehicle for transporting environmental estrogens out of the body, a harmonious balance can be achieved without negatively affecting an individual's natural course. The result is that the body is able to gradually release many accumulated toxins through the urine over a period of time, and symptoms can respond almost immediately this welcomed opportunity.

Our Meno-Fem herbal product does just this; containing gentle herbal diuretics and detoxifiers, Meno-Fem allows the body to naturally balance its own hormone levels. Hot flashes are normally eliminated within three or four days of regular use with lots of pure drinking water in the daily regimen. Our customers report that their water retention is resolved and their abdomens appear flatter and more toned.

Currently in this country we are experiencing a revolution in health care which has an exciting future for all of us. As more and more people try natural and alternative therapies successfully, the traditional medical community becomes educated and involved in the new forms of preventive natural medicine. Thank you for doing your part to consider a better way, and we wish you optimum health!
